Keep Your Fingers Crossed

Below are two screen shots of my image of Holly I posted in this year’s Miller’s senior portrait contest.  Only Miller’s lab members can vote, so I’m disappointed I can’t ask all my great cyberspace friends to help me out.

There are some great prizes that would be awesome for my studio, and they are given out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places who receive the most votes.  After rolling through about 100 pages out of the 214, it’s clear I’m up against some AMAZING photographers.  Whatever happens in the end, it’ll give me something to “shoot” for in the future (pun definitely intended).;-)

Well, the contest ends on July 29th and the winner will be notified on the 1st of August, so, as the post title says, keep your fingers crossed (saying a little prayer couldn’t hurt either).:)

P.S. Don’t forget to enter our “Something for Nothing | July” drawing.  The winner receives a FREE $15 iTunes gift card.  Visit www.jennyminard.com/blog for the details!

Something for Nothing | July

OK, friends!  Below is my beloved Facebook page, and the current total for “people like this” is quite depressing.  Now, I’d like to believe it’s NOT because people HATE Jenny Minard Photography (:::crying in my soup:::) but because my newly created page hasn’t seen much traffic.  All “Something for Nothing” promotions will be posted here and, so far, only three people (including myself) will know about them.  Thank you Sam and Megan.:)

So, for our “Something for Nothing | July” promotion, I’m giving away a FREE $15 iTunes gift card to a person who “likes” Jenny Minard Photography on Facebook.  To do this, I will be drawing a name of one of my members.  However, this time, your odds of winning are determined by the amount of work YOU do.

For my two current members (Sam and Megan), their names will each be enter five times!  Now, for everyone else who “likes” our page, you will receive one entry, BUT, for each person you refer (they MUST give you a shoutout by including your on my wall), you receive an additional TWO entries.  WOO HOO!  YEAH FOR CAPITAL LETTERS!!!

So, if Sally Golucky “likes” JMP, then tells her 10 bestest buds, and they all give a “yeehaw” on her behalf on my wall, she will have a total of 21 chances to win the coveted $15 iTunes gift card.  Is this making sense?

Now, there is one more way to earn entries for this promotion, and you guessed it – leave a comment on ANY post on my main blog (www.jennyminard.com/blog) between now and the promotion end date.  Each fantastic comment will give you FIVE additional entries, even if you leave one (but only one) on each post.  SAWEET!!!

Promotion Starts:  9:00 pm today, July 22nd                                 Promotion Ends:  Midnight, July 31st

So get busy and let’s find some Facebook friends.  Good luck!

Holly’s Senior Flipbook

After many weeks and months of researching the best designs and layouts for a killer senior book, I have finally created this year’s class of 2011 senior Flipbook. Holly was the perfect model to show off this fantastic product.

Holly continued…

Today was a fantastic day!  Holly was able to stop by for “round 2″ of her senior portraits.  Once again, it was so much fun.  We started off outside in the beautiful fall weather.  We took advantage of one random hay bale out in the field, and I even made Holly climb on top of it.  OK, in my defense, I did give her a boost up.:) Those bad boys are huge!

Holly wanted to show how much she loves Jesus, so I took numerous photographs of her with her Bible.  I love the moments captured of her reading a passage in Psalms.  So amazing!  Soon after, Holly, Heather (Holly’s sister), and I continued the appointment doing in-home studio portraits.  It was great.  It makes my job as a photographer SO much easier when the model is at ease and having fun.  We laughed, joked around, and the girls even got to hang out with my son, Lincoln, for a little bit.

All in all, I couldn’t ask for a better day.  I hope to do it again sometime.;-)

Holly + Sunsets = Stunning Images

Last weekend, I had the privilege to photograph an amazing young lady named Holly.  I was SO excited for her appointment to come.  She and I had been talking and planning her photos for weeks, and the day finally came.  We had a game plan, and each brought some fun things to do during her session.  Holly was chosen as a Jenny Minard senior rep, which entitles her to many great prizes and free prints if her friends book appointments from her.

The photos in the slideshow below, are some of my absolute favorites!  Both she and I (and my little assistant, Shannon) tried things we never had before – including stopping along a busy highway, traversing a ditch full of high grass (I was afraid a snake might jump out and knaw off my leg), and taking photos beside a big silver bus and graffitied boxcars.  It was a fantastic evening full of fun and many, many laughs.

She and I will have one more appointment together before the weather gets too cold, so the images below are the first round.  Stay tuned for more photos of my good friend, Holly!
